With a career spanning more than 19 years in the financial services industry, James van Rossem has significant knowledge in investment management workflow reengineering, system design, development, implementation, and testing. Throughout his career, James has developed a wide range of strategies and solutions to suit the needs of financial institutions including investment advisors, insurance companies, banks (wealth management), mutual fund companies, and brokerage firms. His extensive experience in strategic business/technology planning, systems implementation and integration of front, middle, and back office solutions has allowed him to fill many roles including project advisor, coach, subject matter expert, and project manager. James has a 9 year tenure in consulting to the investment management community. Prior to forming van Rossem consulting, James was a Director with Access Data as well as a Principal Consultant with PwC’s Investment Management/Capital Markets Group. Prior to consulting, James worked in the investment management software business for a predecessor of SS&C. Previous to his experience on the business end of software development, James held various investment accounting and trading positions for bank trust and investment management companies (predecessors of Bank of America and KeyCorp).
James is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR), a member of the Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN), and has successfully completed the Level 2 exam in the CFA program. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and an MBA in finance from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio).
